CUT BANK – On Friday the Pirate and Lady Pirates cross-country teams competed in Cut Bank at the Mike Reynolds Time Trial meet.

Polson did not find athletes in the top ten, but three girls cracked into the top 20 taking the 14th, 15th, and 16th places.

Izabella Seeman fared the best among the girls, finishing in 14th with a time of 21:23. Right behind Seeman was freshman Malia Seeley (21:26), and Ryan Harrop (21:27).

The biggest “time shave,” according to cross-country Coach Matt Seeley, came from Sierra Garcia who took off 1:47 from last year’s meet.

For the boys, Seeley said there is work ahead but he believes they will be able to hit some of their goals. Quaid Harlan took 1:39 off last year’s time, finishing this year’s race at 23:11. Sophomore Daniel Omeasoo came in at 22:27, dropping 1:23 from the track time trial he ran last week. Warren Wood finished with the fastest time among the boys at 19:00 flat.

“On the boys’ side we had some great efforts to start the year, but now it will be time to step up and get those times under 18 minutes over the coming weeks,” Seeley said.

The Pirates and Lady Pirates will be bussing it over to Spokane to compete at the Highlander Invite Sept. 13.
