KALISPELL — It was a relatively short and moderately warm trip to last weekend's rodeo for the area high school and wrangler-aged middle school athletes. The Kalispell High School Rodeo was held Saturday and Sunday at the Majestic Valley Arena.
Emily Schall and Shawn George teamed up to place second in Saturday's team roping with a time of 8.52 seconds. Schall also placed second in barrel racing in 16.78 and Nichele Marmon took second in breakaway roping with a run of 4.76.
In the Wrangler Division, Wyatt Lytton and Nicole Lake won the ribbon roping competition in 12.7 seconds.
On Sunday, Lexi Bagnell was third out of 20 pole benders, clocking a time of 24.22 seconds. Schall also finished third in barrel racing in 16.54.
Abby Knight also won the wrangler pole bending in 21.67, followed by Callie Otoupalik in 21.80 to take second. Will Powell and Brad Yerian took first in Wrangler team roping in 25.5 seconds. Powell also took second in boys' breakaway roping in 5.25.
