LAKE COUNTY — Cub Scouts in Polson and St. Ignatius will be going door-to-door taking orders for popcorn through Oct. 19 for the annual Popcorn Sales fundraiser. Online sales are also available online at www.montanabsa.org
The public can also support military by making a donation for popcorn to be shipped to troops.
The popcorn sale provides the opportunity for Scouts to earn funds for service projects, camp, leadership training and pinewood derbies. Up to 28 percent of sales comes back to local Scout units that sell popcorn, and another 12 percent is used for incentive prizes. About 30 percent supports the Montana Council that offers programs for boys from first grade to 21 years of age and young women ages 14-21. Montana Council operates Cub Scout Day Camps in most major towns, and summer camps near Bigfork, Lewistown, and at Camp Melita Island on Flathead Lake.
