POLSON — A committee is a group, sometimes just one person that comes up with these great ideas for you to implement.

The Flu Shot Clinic will be here at the center on Friday, Oct. 17.  The crew from Safeway Pharmacy will be here again this year.  If you are in need of this shot before the flu season really gets here come on in and get a shot by a great bunch of women.

Once again we would really like to thank all of you who donated some of your bounty from your gardens. We really do use all of these goodies and are very thankful for them each and every time. Thank you all again and we look forward to seeing you again next year.

I’ve finally got my act together enough to report the seniors’ bowling scores. The high scratch games scores were: Cris Alter 298 and Larry Alter 288. Way to show him up, Cris! The high scratch series scores were the same two people but with Larry at 757 and Cris nipping at his heels with a 754. Good bowling but you’d better watch your back door, Larry. High handicap series scores for women was my “everlovin’ Fran” with a 791 and men’s high handicap honors went to Walter Reznicek with 841.

The lunch menu for the coming week is as follows:

•  Tuesday, Oct. 21: pork chops, rice

•  Wednesday, Oct. 22: sloppy Joes, tater tots

Lunches are served from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

I once told one of my boys that when Abraham Lincoln was his age, he was splitting rails. His reply was, “When he was your age, he was President.”

Have a great week.
