Jewel Elizabeth Stonehocker
RONAN — Jewel Elizabeth Stonehocker, 85, was born to Alton and Helen Needham in Ronan on Aug. 24, 1925. She passed away at St. Luke Hospital in Ronan on Saturday, March 26.
Jewel graduated from Ronan High School in 1943 and married George Stonehocker on Aug. 17, 1947.
Jewel and George raised five children on the family farm at Round Butte, west of Ronan. She was a longtime member of Ronan Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Round Butte Women’s Club and Garden of the Rockies Museum.
Jewel is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Needham; infant son, Dean Andrew; daughter Julie; and grandson Rod.
She is survived by her beloved husband, George; four sons, Terry (Ginna) of Kila, Clifford of Denton, Warren of Ronan, and Ted (Terali) of Republic, Wash.; sister Rachel Nowlin of Little Rock, Ark.; and brother Tom Needham of Bigfork. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
