ST. IGNATIUS — Everyone is welcome to the lunches and dinners in the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center. Tasty, nutritious lunches are served promptly at noon on Tuesdays and Fridays, except for holidays. The suggested donation is $4 for senior citizens and $5 for those under 60. For children 6 to 12, the suggested donation is $3.50.
Special dinners, like the Thanksgiving spread to be served Nov. 19, are held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 5:30 p.m. The suggested donations for the dinners are $4.50 for seniors, $5.50 for those under 60 and $4 for children 6 to 12.
Kathy Neely from the Area VI Agency on Aging will be in the center on Tuesday, Nov. 25, to inform senior citizens about Medicare plan changes. It is that time of year when insurance companies change their insurance plans and seniors can change their coverage plans. Appointments are necessary for the consultations. A signup sheet is located in the center.
Ruth Krantz thanks all who bring in plastic grocery bags to the center for commodities sacking.
Activities in the center for November are:
Bingo is played after almost every lunch.
Lunches begin at noon.
Quilters quilt in the center on Mondays and Thursdays.
Lunches can be delivered to qualified seniors.
• Wednesday, Nov. 5: roast beef dinner, 5:30 p.m.
• Friday, Nov. 7: stir fry lunch
• Monday, Nov. 10: pinochle, 1:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, Nov. 11: tamale pie lunch; board of directors, 10 a.m.
• Friday, Nov. 14: baked chicken and birthday cake lunch
• Tuesday, Nov. 18: meatloaf lunch
• Wednesday, Nov. 19: Thanksgiving turkey dinner, 5:30 p.m.
• Friday, Nov. 21: chef’s salad and soup lunch
• Tuesday, Nov. 25: pork tenderloin lunch; Medicare consultations
• Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28: center closed for holiday
