Well....I think it’s been a good, long and lovely fall—but I still don’t feel ready for “the big sleep.” Some of us change closets from spring to winter—not an easy task. And neither is taking care of the lawn furniture, hoses, all the stuff that accumulates outdoors that should be put away. Soon it won’t matter...we’ll find it in the spring. I’ve got in a good supply of bird and cat food, new insulation and prepaid propane—bring it on.
With the retirement of Diane Groh, who will be exploring some of the rest of our country, we were fortunate to hire a new cook for our center. Jen Hammond resides in Charlo, with her 14 yr.-old daughter and her husband. Come and meet Jen, as she provides tasty, nutritious fare for us all.
Our menu for part of the month will be:
• Thursday, Nov. 6: chicken noodle soup with biscuits
• Monday, Nov. 10: stuffed pork loin
• Thursday, Nov. 13: taco salad
• Monday, Nov. 17: lasagna
Remember, all ages are welcome to our center. Meals are only $4, and take-out meals are available. The center is also available for rent, for parties, receptions, showers and meetings. Call Marie Ardis, for more information, (406) 246-3528.
I enjoyed seeing many of Dixon’s patriotic residents on Election Day. It is our privilege to have a safe opportunity to mark our choice on the ballot, whether our candidate wins or not. Thanks to you who made the effort to vote.
Bring your family, your company, or just come by yourself to our Monday evening meal. It will be warm and tasty.
