PABLO — A discussion about birthday plans turned into a dangerous disagreement last weekend in Pablo. Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call that two males outside a residence of North Woods Trailer Court east on Courville Trail were shooting at each other on Saturday at 4:50 p.m.

No injuries were sustained in the shoot out, allegedly involving brothers Jonathon Wayne Charlo, 24, and Ryan Anthony Charlo, 25, according to Undersheriff Jay Doyle.

The verbal dispute stemmed from a conversation about going to a birthday party, Doyle said. Allegedly, Jonathon punched Ryan in the face, sparking Ryan to grab a .380 semi-automatic pistol from his brother’s residence and discharge a round at his brother before fleeing the scene.

According to Doyle, Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Police and Lake County Sheriff’s Department personnel set up a perimeter around the area and located Ryan in a trailer at nearby Maggie Ashley Trailer Park in Pablo.

Ryan was charged with two felonies — assault with a weapon and criminal endangerment — and is being held in Lake County Jail. Jonathon was also charged with a felony — obstruction of justice for refusing to give his statement when law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene.
