RONAN – The Warriors did not see top eight to make it to day two in the duals competition at the Ronan Western Montana Wrestling Invitational, but did see grapplers with wins in the mixer event.

The Warriors dropped all three bouts in the first day duals competition with scores of 18-48 against Fairfield-Simms, 18-48 against Mission-Charlo and 18-39 vs. Corvallis.

Despite the losses, Warriors TJ Knoll (120), Daniel Dunlop (145), George Shick (160) and Alex Bertollt (182) all won matches in their weight divisions.

All four also secured wins in the mixer competition.

The Warriors will host a mixer Jan. 8 and then travel to Thompson Falls Jan. 10.

RONAN – The Bulldogs secured a fifth-place finish at the Ronan Western Montana Wrestling Invitational in the duals event, beating out several teams and seeing some top notch matches from their athletes.

After three straight duals wins on Friday against Cut Bank 36-35, Arlee 48-18 and Fairfield-Simms 36-39, the Bulldogs qualified to compete in the day two championship round Saturday.

Saturday, the Bulldogs faced defeat in the first round of championship action with a loss to Frenchtown 22-48.

Wiping the sweat off their brow, they continued on to beat Flathead JV 48-30 and Corvallis 38-21 to secure a fifth place finish in the duals tournament overall.

Bulldog Trent Dennison (152) led the attack for his team, winning five matches in the duals event. Other match winners included Ethan Goss-Dickie (HWT), Blaine Bauer (160), Jamie Mullins (132), Gus Bosley (170), Steven Bravo (205), Troy Mitchell (138), Kyle Couture (160) and Bailey Weible (120).

Highlights include fast pins by Goss-Dickie taking down his opponent in 0:35, Bravo 0:43 and Gus Bosley with a 0:52 pin.

The Bulldogs will head to Cut Bank Jan. 9-10 for the Cut Bank Invitational.
