Arlee

ST. IGNATIUS – The Warriors continue their streak of perfection claiming two more victories taking them to a season record of 8-0.

While competing in Mission on Friday, the Warriors strong-armed their way to a 75-64 win against the class B Bulldogs.

After a tied first half, Arlee put on their scoring shoes, outscoring the Bulldogs by 12 in the third frame and securing the nonconference victory.

Tyler Tanner had a big night netting 28 for the Warriors. Phillip Malatare chipped in 12 and Bradley Brazill logged 11.

Saturday the Warriors pummeled Noxon toppling the Red Devils 68-21 on the Devil’s own court behind Justis Haynes 16 netted points.

Warrior Riley Rogers helped with 10 while Tanner, Malatare and Brazill each added 9 apiece.

Arlee will host 14-C foes, Charlo’s Vikings Jan. 15 and then will head to Pablo to take on Two Eagle River Jan. 16.

Charlo

SUPERIOR – The Vikings suffered a double blow over the last week of play as they dropped two games, bringing them to a 4-4 record on the season.

Thursday at Superior, the Vikings fell short in the 14-C league contest, coming home with the 31-48 loss.

Dalton Delaney led the Vikings in scoring, netting 15.

After a struggling first quarter the Vikings came back to redeem themselves in the next two frames at the net, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Granite in the 41-48 loss to the Prospectors.

Kobe Cox and Tyson Petticrew combined for 30 points, with Cox high-scoring with 21. Petticrew tossed in 9.

The Vikings will head to Arlee Jan. 15 and then will return to host Hot Springs Jan. 17.

Mission

ST. IGNATIUS – The Bulldogs dipped below 500 in their last week of play after dropping two on the court.

Friday the Bulldogs challenged the Warriors at home, tripping after a first half tie that ended in a 64-75 loss for Mission.

Despite the loss, Aaron Ahenakew-Fisher worked the net logging 19 for the Bulldogs. Will Powell added 10.

Saturday Nick Durglo put up 14 for the Bulldogs but a one-man show wasn’t enough to keep Mission on the top side in the 45-65 stumble against Loyola-Scared Heart in Missoula.

The Bulldogs hope to capture wins with a home game against Ronan Jan. 16 and then will travel to Troy Jan. 17.

Polson

KALISPELL – The Pirates had a rough week, dropping two and bringing their season win-loss total to 2-5.

Though posting a 52-57 loss Tuesday, the Pirates had nothing to hang their heads about as they kept the numbers close against AA conference leaders Glacier Wolfpack.

Pirate Tanner Wilson led both teams in individual scoring, netting 16 for the Pirates. Payton Lefthand and Derek Peel each added 9.

On Saturday, Lefthand and Andrew Curley combined for 24 points with 12 apiece though the Pirates came up short overall, falling 57-73 to Northwestern A’s top-seeded Columbia Falls. 

Peel chipped in 11 for his team.

The Pirates will head to Libby for some conference play Jan. 12.

Ronan

RONAN – Coming away with a split in their last two games, the Chiefs balanced out their record to an even 4-4 on the season.

While hosting Deer Lodge Friday, the Chiefs played a close-but-no-prize nail-biter, falling to the Wardens 41-44 in the 6-B conference contest.

Chief Cedric Earthboy high-scored both teams with a balanced performance, recording 24 points in all. 

Saturday the Chiefs traveled to Troy where they were edged by the Trojans, 51-49. Jeremiah North Piegan led with a 19-point attack at the hoop. Earthboy chipped in 11 for the Chiefs in the non-league game.

The Chiefs will host Plains Jan. 15 and will grab a bus to Mission Jan.16 for conference action.

Two Eagle River

ST. REGIS – The Eagles are on a roll, pushing past competition as they pick up a pair of league wins that tip them over the 500 mark to 3-2 in conference play.

Alex Quequesah’s dominating 30 point effort on Friday helped to topple St. Regis 82-78 in a battle played on the Tiger’s court.

Adding to the Eagles big 82 were Eugene Parker with 15 and Chino Lira with 12.

At home on Saturday the Eagles slipped past last year’s conference title holders, Superior, 62-60. After falling behind in the first quarter, the Eagles rallied back to take the lead, sealing it with a 21 point fourth frame.

Parker high-scored for the Eagles with 17 while Quequesah chipped in 15 and Lira helped out with 13.

The Eagles will host undefeated Arlee Jan. 16 and will travel to Missoula to compete against Valley Christian Jan.17.
