Monte Mindt

COEUR D’ALENE, IDAHO — Monte Mindt, 49, passed away early Monday morning, Jan. 12, 2015, at the family home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Monte was born in Fort Benton, Montana, on Nov. 7, 1965, to Del and Anna Mindt. He graduated from Polson High School in 1984 and the Seattle Art Institute in 1988.

He was employed as the Creative Director at Quisenberry Marketing in Spokane at the time of his death.

Monte’s sister Patti; all of his grandparents; and his niece Brooke Thomas precede him in death. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 27 years, Tanya, and their beloved daughters Rylee and Haley, all at the family home in Coeur d’Alene; his parents Del and Anna Mindt from Polson; sister Nora Templer of Missoula (husband Brian, children Brandon and Darci, Amos and Teshena, and Hannah); sister Tana Mindt of Polson (son Matthew Sorenson and Matt’s wife Melissa); Patti’s son Boston; mother-in-law Kathy Benson; and sisters-in-law Tami and her son Jeremiah, and Tara Whitmore and her husband Justin and children, Austin, Brady and Elizabeth.

Monte was passionate and competitive about life and everything and everyone around him. That passion became clear very early on, whether it was on the football field, in the art room, on a trout stream, or in a hunting camp. But more than anything, Monte was passionate about being a husband to Tanya and a father to Rylee and Haley. He fought for everything he did in life for the benefit of his family. Tanya and the girls were the only motivation that he needed to be able to beat his cancer back and allow all of us to enjoy his presence here on earth just a little longer and treasure a few extra moments in his life, whether it was on the sidelines, in the stands, in the mountains or on the lake. We are all better off for having Monte in our lives.

We are blessed that Monte’s passion and fight are embodied in his beautiful daughters as a continual reminder of the special person that he was and we trust that God’s plan has much in store for him as he helps pave the way for the moment when we may join him. He will be remembered always as a loving husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

In celebration of his life, a memorial service for Monte will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Lake City Community Church, 6000 N Ramsey Road, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, 83815.

An education fund has been set up for his daughters Rylee and Haley Mindt at Umpqua Bank, 1106 East Sherman Ave., Coeur d Alene, Idaho, 83814.貊
