Ronan Maidens stay perfect in conference play

FLORENCE – The Maidens split their last week of play but made the win count by toppling a 6-B rival to stay perfect at 5-0 in conference play.

Friday in Florence the Maidens dominated the Lady Falcons, picking up the 59-34 league win. While outscoring Florence throughout the contest, well-played Maiden defense kept the Lady Falcons from getting anything done at the net, resulting in orange and black coming out on top.

Lee Camel and Micalann McCrea combined for 25 of the Maidens 59 with Camel netting 14 and McCrea right behind with 11.

At Eureka on Saturday, the Maidens toughed out a 42-45 loss against the Lady Lions, dropping the Maidens to an 8-4 season record.

Though the Maidens held up through most of the contest, a low scoring second quarter was enough to give the Lady Lions the jump they needed to overcome Ronan.

Camel led the Maidens scoring nine while Jordyn Clairmont and Alicia Camel added eight.

The Maidens will head to Corvallis Friday.
