Bulldogs run Charlo off court

ST. IGNATIUS – A split was in play for the Bulldogs last week, with their conference record taking a yet another hit to bring them to 0-5, but not without a non-conference win over Charlo that improved their overall season record to 5-6.

Thursday the Bulldogs toppled northern neighbor Class C Vikings 44-40 in a tight back-and-forth hoops contest.

A 10-4 second frame provided the Bulldogs the lift they were looking for to cap the non-conference victory.

Aaron Fisher-Ahenakew posted the most for the Bulldogs with 14 points while Nick Durglo helped with 10.

On Saturday the Bulldogs fell 63-80 to the Wardens in Deer Lodge. The Wardens posted a first half trap from which the Bulldogs found no escape, despite Fisher Ahenakew’s stand out performance netting 35 points — more than half of the Bulldogs 63.

Gentry Brown was the next highest scorer with eight.

Up next for Mission will be a contest in Florence to challenge the Falcons on Saturday.
