Lake County Justice Court news for Feb. 11, 2010

Judge Chuck Wall dealt with the following cases from Jan. 29-Feb. 4:

David Alan Cappa, 54, pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol - first offense, and to failure to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle - third or subsequent offense.

He was found guilty of both offenses. For the DUI, he was fined $400, charged $85 in court costs, and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 179 days suspended. For failure to carry proof of insurance, he was fined $500, charged $35 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 175 days suspended.

Paula Jane Martin, 43, pleaded guilty to speeding, going 69 mph in a 55 mph zone. She was fined $30 and charged $35 in court costs.

Lonnie Muth, 40, pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct. He was found guilty and charged $85 in court costs.

Amy Yankey, 33, pleaded not guilty to operating with alcohol concentration of .08% BAC or greater - first offense. She was found guilty, fined $400, charged $85 in court costs and sentenced to 10 days in jail with 10 days suspended.

Steven Charles Vert, Jr., pleaded not guilty to boating under the influence and operating within 20 feet of swim area. He was found guilty of both offenses. For boating under the influence, he was fined $250, charged $35 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended. For operating within 20 feet of swim area, he was fined $250, charged $35 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended.

Kenneth Rex Fairchild, 53, pleaded not guilty to operating with an expired registration - failure to reregister and to failure to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle - third or subsequent offense. He was found guilty of both offenses and for failure to reregister, he was fined $50 and charged $35 in court costs. For failure to carry proof of insurance, he was fined $300 and charged $35 in court costs.

Ryan James Stultz, 22, pleaded not guilty to driving without a valid driver’s license - expired less than 180 days. He was found guilty, fined $50 and charged $35 in court costs.

Randall Bruce Willison, 56, pleaded not guilty to failure to display proof of payment of current GVW fees - Reference ARM 18.8.429. He was found guilty, fined $100 and charged $35 in court costs.

Rusty Alyn Gring, 19, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. He was found guilty, fined $250, charged $35 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 days suspended.

Jennifer Anne Jones, 35, pleaded guilty to driving without a valid driver’s license - expired more than 180 days. She was found guilty, fined $150 and charged $35 in court costs.

Miranda L. Morency, 19, pleaded guilty to operating without liability insurance in effect - first offense, careless driving, failure to notify owner after accident resulting in damage to property/fixtures along highway, failure to give notice of accident by quickest means - apparent damage over $500, and to driving without a valid driver’s license - expired more than 180 days.

For operating without liability, she was fined $150 and charged $35 in court costs. For careless driving, she was fined $100 and charged $35 in court costs. For failure to notify owner after accident, she was fined $200, charged $35 in court costs and sentenced to 20 days in jail with 19 days suspended. For failure to give notice of accident, she was fined $200, charged $35 in court costs and sentenced to 20 days in jail with 19 days suspended. For driving without a valid driver’s license, she was fined $200, charged $35 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 179 days suspended.

James Nathan Conners, 43, pleaded guilty to operating without liability insurance in effect - first offense. He was fined $150 and charged $35 in court costs.
