Vida Winkley
POLSON — Vida Winkley, 98, of Polson, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Vida was born Feb. 19, 1911 in Kellerton, Iowa to Bill and Martha Hackett Vail. She attended the Vancouver Business College.
In 1933, she married O. E. “Kim” Kimball in Camas, Wash. They settled in Montana and started M&S Meats. They later divorced in 1958.
Vida married Jack Winkley in 1964. They lived in Rollins for 31 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, growing flowers, looking at the beautiful mountains and lake, reading, and dining out.
She is survived by children Ted Kimball and Gail (Sonny) Herreid; brother, Jim Vail; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Saturday, May 1, at Polson Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Polson City Library.
