Louis L. Ray

ST. IGNATIUS — Louis L. Ray (Louie) passed away Nov. 22, 2014, after a short illness. Louie was born June 30, 1943, in St. Ignatius, the first son of Louis L. Ray and Cleo N. Aubrey Ray. After high school he proudly served his country in the US Navy. Louie moved to Washington after the Navy, where he worked as a certified welder for Allied Body Works for 35 years.

Louie was a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. He loved sports (he played football in high school). He was a big Patriots fan. He also enjoyed playing golf. He loved to hunt and fish and just drive around in the mountains sometimes. He lived his life the way he wanted, loved people and enjoyed playing Keno and other casino games.

Louis is preceded in death by both parents; all grandparents; two younger brothers Dennis and Arthur; his second wife, June; and his Pomeranian Griz.

He leaves behind his daughter, Cleo (Kevin) Laroche, and grandson Josh of Renton, Washington; son, Robert Ray, also of Renton, Washington; brothers Darrell Huff of Butte and Jack Ray of Polson; sisters Barbara and Murray Triplett of Seattle, Washington, Susie Ray of Edmonds, Washington, Jeanne Caldwell of Anaconda, Montana, Laurie and Ron Stolba of Belgrade, Montana, and Bette Baker of Polson; also stepmom Joan Ray of Butte and longtime friend Jan Cochran of Polson. He leaves many, many friends and extended family. We love and miss you Louie.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held May 22 at Louie’s residence, 30811 Highway 35 in Polson.

Condolences may be sent to betteboop77@hotmail.com or Lake Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Cancer Research or ASPCA in Louie’s name.
