Christopher Ryan Hiday

WATFORD CITY, NORTH DAKOTA – Christopher Ryan Hiday went home to our Heavenly Father on March 31, 2015.

He was born on July 23, 1989 in Missoula to Timothy and Valerie Hiday.

His elementary education was completed in Missoula and the surrounding area. He graduated from Polson High School in 2008.

Independence was important to Chris, as he was proud to work hard for everything he owned. His first jobs were for Super One Foods and Harvest Foods, where he learned the ins and outs of business.

Chris met Jeltsi Chisholm in 2011 in Polson and not long after they decided to move to Watford City, North Dakota. Chris began working in the oil fields for a sand company.

Chris and Jeltsi married on Jan. 28, 2013, in Bismark, North Dakota. They welcomed their daughter Cambree on Feb. 8, 2013. Cambree was Chris’ pride and joy and he always called her “princess.”

After Cambree was born, Chris started working for Panther Pressure Testers in Watford City. He quickly excelled at his job and became a supervisor and lead pump operator. Everyone at Panther became family to Chris, Jeltsi and Cambree. Chris loved and enjoyed his job and everyone that worked there.

Chris had an impact on everyone who knew him. A close friend remembers Chris as, “… an idea man, a true philosopher and master mind, scheme artist of practical jokes with co-workers and friends.”

Everyone who shared his life was special to him.

He had a passion for the outdoors. His leisure time was often spent with family and friends fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, camping and snowmobiling.

Chris strived to climb the highest mountain, reaching for the stars. His goals and accomplishments in his short life were endless. He will be remembered for his generous heart, sharp wit and impeccable spirit that shines on the highest mountain. Chris, we love you and miss you.

His grandparents Franklin and Esther Kendall; his great-grandparents Gerald and Esther Pickens; his great-grandmother Clara Hiday and his great aunt Geraldine Caluori preceded Chris in death.

Chris’ wife, Jeltsi; his daughter, Cambree; his mother and father, Valerie and Timothy; his brother, Brandon (Dannie); his grandparents Donald and Beverly Hiday; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, special friends and the family dog ‘Koco’, survive him.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Ronan Community Center. In lieu of flowers, Chris expressed as a last wish that his daughter Cambree Hiday go to college. A trust fund for her is being considered and information will be provided at the memorial service.
