BLUE BAY — A shooting at 11 p.m. on Saturday at a residence about a mile north of Blue Bay sent three people to the hospital.

A female called Lake County dispatch and reported she had been shot accidentally, but after leaving the scene with her daughter and son, she called back to report that it had not been an accidental shooting. A Lake County Sheriff’s deputy arrived and escorted the victims to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson.

Law enforcement got a search warrant for the premises, but suspect Aaron Dodge, 45, was not at the home and neither was his vehicle. Officers found it backed into a nearby orchard. Dodge was apprehended after a foot chase about 7:30 a.m. Sunday as he approached the house.

Law enforcement was still investigating the case as of press time.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said Dodge is being held on three counts of assault with a weapon and is set to be formally charged on Monday.
