MAC

ST. IGNATIUS – Mission-Arlee-Charlo continued to work toward keeping their position high on the Western B-C ladder while picking up a few wins, staying steady in second place, right behind Ronan.

At home Tuesday, MAC split with Florence, their second place counterpart, to remain tied with the Lady Falcons on a mission to catch Ronan.

Game one proved to be a challenge for the Lady Bulldogs as they took a hit and tumbled to Florence 4-12.

Lady Bulldog Shania Dubois picked up an RBI off of a triple in her 3-4 outing at the dish.

Redemption was in the air for the Lady Bulldogs as they came back to claim the 9-5 victory in game two against the Lady Falcons.

Jaycee Anderson picked up the win from the circle while Ran’Dee Charlo logged a save.

Offensively, Morgan Malatare led the way, going 2-3 with a homerun. Dubois chipped in a pair of RBIs with a double while Roylance and Eichert also added a pair of runs each, logging doubles.

At Thompson Falls on Friday, the Lady Bulldogs snagged a narrow 6-5 win over the Lady Blue Hawks.

After falling behind at the bottom of the second inning, MAC came back to outscore their opponents in the fourth by two – just enough for the hard-earned victory.

Lady Bulldog Emilie Charlo led at the plate with a double and a couple of RBIs while Anderson picked up the circle win.

The Lady Bulldogs combined for 20 hits between Saturday’s sweep of Deer Lodge.

In game one, five doubles shot off the bats of MAC with Ran’Dee Charlo responsible for one of the extra base hits in her 3-4 effort. Roylance, Eichert and Berit DeGrandpre each added two RBIs apiece.

In the nightcap, a hefty fifth inning and hot bats kept the Lady Bulldogs on top as they rolled over the Lady Wardens 9-6.

Eichert put up yardage with a hard-hit, fence-sailing ball and Ran’ Dee Charlo clubbed a double in her 2-3 plate performance.

The Lady Bulldogs will split their last two games between home and the road as they head to Missoula to take on Loyola-Sacred Heart Thursday, and then return home to host the final game of the regular season against Ronan Saturday.

Ronan

RONAN – The Maidens skirted right past Eureka Monday — not once, but twice — shutting out the Lady Lions with big numbers and picking up a couple more wins to add to their 14-3 season record, 11-2 in league.

Game one was decided out of the gate as the Maidens picked up 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning and kept on going until the mercy rule took effect as they toppled Eureka 19-0.

Maidens Amanda Morency, Carston Rhine and Marissa Mock all had perfect games at the dish going 3-3 with Morency knocking in five of the Maidens’ runs and Rhine taking advantage of two doubles to grab three RBIs. Rhine also picked up the one hitter win from the circle.

The Maidens had a slower start to the second game but a big final two innings launched Ronan into the 18-0 shutout.

Rhine threw a no hitter and also picked up a pair of RBIs while Morency scored a double out of her 2-4 effort. Starkel added two more runs, batted in her 2-4 outing at the plate.

The Maidens will host a doubleheader against Drummond on Thursday and will then play their last regular season game against rivaled Lady Bulldogs in Mission Saturday.

Polson

POLSON – The Lady Pirates took a bit of a beating this last week, dropping two to 8-4 on the season.

At home Thursday, Polson fell to Kalispell Glacier 2-11. Cool bats kept the Lady Pirates from getting anything going around the bases as they only mustered up four hits.

Haley Fyant was responsible for Polson’s only two runs on her 1-1 effort while Kaelen Wall, Lydia Dupuis and Skyla Krantz were the other Lady Pirates to have hits.

On Friday in Frenchtown, the Lady Pirates were shut out while facing Lady Broncs’ famous Morgan Ray, managing only three hits off of the power pitcher.

Lady Pirates Taylor Brackey, Hannah Potts and Sarah Rausch were the players who had successful contact with each logging a single.

Coming up for the Lady Pirates will be a home-hosted game against Columbia Falls on Thursday. The team then heads to Butte for some tourney action Friday and Saturday.
