With Fisher Shima leading the way with a fifth-place victory over Mission’s Andrew Esslinger (7-6, 3-6, 6-3), the Ronan boys’ tennis team swatted its way to fourth place, while neighboring St. Ignatius finished fifth at the State B-C Tennis Tournament played Thursday through Saturday in Great Falls.
Three-peat champion Loyola Sacred Heart steamrolled the competition on the boys’ side, scoring a massive 71 points to runner-up Bigfork’s 29. Troy took third with 26 points, ahead of Ronan in fourth with 18 and fifth-place St. Ignatius with 14.
