Donald Glenn Corkum

PORTLAND, OREGON — Donald “Corky” Corkum, 84, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2015, in Portland, Oregon, with his family at his side. Don was born March 25, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, and then moved to Portland with parents Gordon and Beulah Corkum. He graduated from Grant High School and attended Oregon State University where he was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity.

In Oregon, Don owned and operated Mt. Hood Building Supply. He moved to Polson in the early 1990s and started a new business, Rae’s Motor Mocha. Corky was an active member and volunteer for the Mission Valley Elks Club where for many years he organized and helped prepare the annual Chinese Dinner. Don was a member of the Polson Bay Golf Club.

Don was blessed with loyal friends throughout his life and in recent years found great joy with his dog and best buddy, Hudson.

Don is survived by sister, Judy Richins; sons Michael, David (Susan); daughters Lynn Grice (Dennis) and Jill Reynolds (Mark); six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A remembrance of life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mission Valley Elks Club in Polson. The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society or the Mission Valley Elks Scholarship Fund.

Go Beavs and go Cubs!
