News from St. Luke Community Healthcare

RONAN — The Montana Academy of Family Physicians, the state chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (one of the largest national medical organizations in the United States, with more than 115,900 members), will announce John D. Williams, M.D. as its chapter president on June 18 during its annual meeting at Chico Hot Springs. His term will run for on year. Dr. Williams previously served as a board member since 2009.

Dr. Williams is a family physician at the St. Luke Polson Clinic. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Idaho and went on to receive his medical degree from University of Nevada Reno, and completed his Family Practice Residency in 2006. Dr. Williams joined St. Luke Community Healthcare in July 2006.

As president, he will serve as the official representative and spokesperson for the Montana Academy of Family Physicians, and will chair the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. Dr. Williams is also the Lake County Public Health Officer and sits on the executive committee of the Montana Medical Association.

The Montana Academy of Family Physicians promotes family medicine, provides education for family physicians, represents the personal and professional interests of family physicians and is the guiding force for quality primary care in Montana.

“The Montana Academy of Family Physicians’ priority is helping our members by promoting the ideals and concepts of family medicine to better care for the people of Montana,” Williams said. “My priority is to engage the family physicians and our patients to actively participate in our health and strengthen primary care in Montana.”
