Wendell Albert Abrahamson

RONAN — In the comfort of his own home, surrounded by loved ones, Wendell Albert Abrahamson lost his battle to Lymphoma on the night of June 9.

Wendell was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Malta, Montana, to Ivernia and John Abrahamson. He was one of seven children. He grew up in Malta where he attended the local high school, and then later joined the army and served his country for four years. Upon returning, he met his beautiful wife Faye and they got married on July 16, 1954. They moved to Redyard, Montana, to start their lives. There they lived and raised their children, John, Gary, and Wendy.

Wendell worked as a road grater for Hill County, and was also active in the community working with the fire department emergency crew, school board, and city council. His main passion in life was rock hounding, which developed into a family custom.

After raising their children, Wendell and his wife moved to Ronan, Montana, where they purchased a nursing home, which they ran with much success for many years. They decided to make Ronan their home for the rest of their lives. For many years, they belonged to the Nazarene Church of Pablo, Montana.

Wendell is preceded in death by his mother, father, one brother (Wally), and his wife of over 60 years who passed away almost exactly one year earlier. He was a man of few words but much love, very patriotic, and prided himself on perfection.

Wendell’s children, John Abrahamson of Shelby, Gary Abrahamson of Pablo, and Wendy Wadsworth of Ronan, and his siblings Lillian, Marion, Willard, Warren, William (Bill), and numerous other family members, who all loved him dearly, survive him.

Friends and family gathered together to say their final farewells and share stories about Wendell on Saturday, June 13, at The Church of the Nazarene in Pablo, where Faye and Wendell had devoted all their faith for many years. Immense appreciation goes to those who attended the ceremonies and supported our family in our time of need.
