The Mission varsity boys, above, Charlo varsity boys, top right, 

and Ronan varsity girls, lower right, were among the 36 teams 

at Decker’s Tournament over the weekend in Ronan. 

“It’s a lot of basketball,” tournament director Gale Decker said. 

“We started with six teams the first year, so it’s come a long way.”

Teams from around Western Montana, over to Browning and Cut Bank 

and as far away as Cusick, Wash., made the trip for the 23rd annual 

round-robin format tourney. Eighty-four games were played over two days 

in five gyms, with the Arlee varsity boys winding up with one 

of the best records — 5-0 — in the field. “And they beat everybody from 

the AAs down to the Class Cs,” Decker said
