Leonard Gerald 'Grandpa' Lytle
ARLEE — Leonard Gerald “Grandpa” Lytle, 86, passed away Dec. 25, 2009, peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Born in York, Neb., Oct. 23, 1923, to Stanley William and Anna Catherine Reiners Lytle, he lived there until 1940 when his family moved to Buhl, Idaho.
In 1943, he came to Montana with his brother and decided to move here for good, bringing his family along. They purchased a ranch in Arlee.
He married Joan in 1948 and they had many homes, but came back to Arlee in 1959.
He enjoyed spending time chatting with friends and watching his grandchildren grow.
Leonard was preceded in death by five brothers; one sister; and his wife, Joan.
He is survived by children Marty Lytle and Lorri (Tim O’Neill); grandchildren Katelyn Lytle, Alyssa (Daniel) Cahoon, Wyatt and Webb O’Neill.
A viewing was held Dec. 29, at Foster Funeral Home in St. Ignatius.
