Robert Rosenbaum

POLSON — Robert (Bob) Glenn Rosenbaum passed away Sunday Aug. 2, 2015, at the age of 71. He had a full and happy life. Bob entered this world on March 8, 1944, in the loving arms of parents, Glenn and Marjorie Rosenbaum. He leaves this world in the loving arms of God and joins his dear mom and dad in heaven.

Bob lived his entire life in the Mission Valley. Growing up, Bob was in high school sports and 4-H. As a teenager he helped on the family farm as well neighboring farms. He graduated from Charlo High School in 1963. He was an extremely hard worker and after graduation got on with the U.S. Forest Service in Seeley Lake. He left the Forest Service in 1968 to try his hand at logging. He became skilled in operating logging equipment and making the best of friends doing it.

In March 1967, he met his wife-to-be, Sharon Petticrew. They were married on Aug. 20, 1967, at the United Methodist Church in Ronan. They made their home first in Polson, where their first son Andy was born in 1969. They moved to the family farm in 1970 to help his dad farm. Then their son Terry was born in 1971 and their daughter Tricia joined the family in 1975. In 1979 Sharon’s nephew Greg became part of the family. Bob’s grandchildren were the light of his life, all 18 of them.

In addition to working on the farm, Bob did custom combining. In the late ’70s he decided to try his hand at the trucking business. He bought his first truck and began hauling logs, cattle, hay and farm equipment. You name it; he hauled it and he made a good living for his family. His CB handle was “Barnyard” and his hauls took him to Washington State, Idaho and Montana. Through these travels he created friendships throughout those areas.

Bob was a joker from the time he was young to the day he passed. He had a joke to tell anytime and anywhere. He loved people and people loved him. He never hesitated to help those in need, whether with money or work.

His favorite place to hang out for food, coffee and the latest news was Connie’s Countryside Cafe. There he would sit at his table and “BS” with his buddies before taking off on a truck-hauling job.

Bob’s mom and dad, sister and three nephews all precede him in death.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon; his sons, Terry (Kasey) Rosenbaum, Greg (Melanie) Petticrew, and Andy (Cari) Rosenbaum; his daughter, Tricia (Shad) Andersen; grandchildren: Kolten, Alik, Packer, Brooklyn, Jase, Tristan, Tyson, Tori, Trevon, Jaycee, Shad, Kelton, Bennan, Chance, McKalistar, Aidyn, Brygg, and Avenliegh; his sister, Beverly (Chuck) Crouse; and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will take place on Friday, Aug. 7, from 4-7 p.m. at Shrider-Thompson Funeral Home in Ronan.

A funeral service will be held at Leon Community Center on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of “Barnyard Bob,” please donate to www.gofundme.com/BrettKrantz. Proceeds go to help with funeral expenses for the unexpected loss of his cousin, a wonderful young man.
