RONAN – First, here’s the finish of “I’m Fine,” author unknown.
“Arch supports I have for my feet,
Or I wouldn’t be able to walk on the street.
Sleep is denied me night after night, and
every morning I am a sight.
My memory’s failing, my head’s in a spin
but, I’m awfully good for the shape I’m in
The moral is as this tale I unfold,
That for (you) and I who are growing old,
It’s better to say, “I’m fine, with a grin
Than to let others know the shape we are in.”
You know, if the Ronan Senior Citizen’s Center has anyone in that shape, we’d be taking an offering.
We have a request by one of the board members: Please, if anyone has extra plastic bags, they are sorely needed in our commodity department. Please bring any bags to our center at 528 Main Street. This would be soooo … much appreciated. Further, Martha says bingo is on the first Friday of the month, Sept. 4.
I feel like the small dog that was housed for barking so much. The dog sulked down and said to himself, “And I had so much I wanted to say.”
Meals this week:
— Wednesday, Sept. 2: beef enchiladas, vegetable, fruit
— Friday, Sept. 4: Polish dogs, potato salad, sauerkraut, fruit
— Monday, Sept. 7: closed, Labor Day
— Wednesday, Sept. 9: baked potato bar, variety of toppings vegetable, fruit, cinnamon rolls
All previous amenities are still in force. You can obtain a printed monthly menu at the center.
Stay safe and see you at the Ronan Senior Center.
