Polson

Polson golfers fared well last week in the Flathead and Hamilton Invitational tournaments.

The Polson boys golf team claimed second place at the Hamilton tournament with a team total of 337. Four Polson golfers placed in the top 10 with individual scores of 87 and lower. Carson McDaniel’s low score of 77 was good for a third place finish. Teammate Matt Hobbs came in seventh with a score of 86 while Curtis Capdeville and Colin Kenney tied for eighth with Stevensville golfer Zel Frost at 87. The finish was a personal best for Kenney.

Lady Pirates Kiyara McCue, Emily Davis and Amanda Farley finished thirteenth (tie) and sixteenth, respectively.

Solid play in Hamilton came on the heels of the Pirates’ toughest tournament thus far against 14 teams, including 7 AA, the previous day in Kalispell. The boys team finished seventh overall and second for Class A with Carson McDaniel securing eighth place with scores of 77 and 83 (160 total).

Noah McDonald golfed his best career performance of 84 and 87 for a two-day total of 171.

“Kiyara’s score of 96 at Buffalo Hills was a personal best,” said Bill Owen, Polson golf coach.
