RONAN – You haven’t missed it.

SAFE Harbor is holding their 11th annual Art Auction on Oct. 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the Ronan Community Center. Dana Grant, SAFE Harbor director, said tickets to reserve a table are still available by calling 406-676-9242.

SAFE Harbor helps support hundreds of abuse survivors each year. They offer emergency shelter, crisis intervention and emergency advocacy free of charge to those seeking relief from matters that include domestic violence, dating violence and sexual assault.

Community members donated many items for the live and silent auctions to be held during the event that include original art pieces, baskets, sculptures, jewelry, quilts, a few mini-vacations and desserts. Dinner is served with an Italian theme focused on specialty dishes.

The art pieces won’t be unveiled until the event, but one thing isn’t a secret. Grant said that two local artists have volunteered to “generously share” their talent. Olivia Olsen and Juanita Small Salmon will each develop an original piece of artwork throughout the event that will be added to the auction.

The funds raised from the auction this year are going to help survivors of abuse with legal services like protection orders, child custody, state ordered parenting plans and other legal issues connected with abuse. And a portion of the funding will also go towards filling the requirements needed to receive a matching funds grant.
