ARLEE — Fall has finally shown itself for real, with some rain and real fall temperatures.  Can’t say I’m ready for snow, but we’ll take what we get and after all, snow is just another form of moisture, which we really need.

The quilt raffle continues.... This is a prize item you might obtain for a

very reasonable price, as quilts go: $2 for the first ticket, three tickets for $5, and seven tickets for $10.  It takes just one ticket to win. Joyce Auer, Margaret Bachmier, Connie Wining and Sherry Crepeau donated this colorful quilt to the Arlee Center. Their quilting is exquisite, and as professional as you will ever find.

We will have a silent auction starting on Nov. 2, with a very nice variety of items. You can likely find something for a Christmas gift, or a gimmick you always really wanted. Seriously, there are some nice baking dishes, a small lap quilt, a small tools set, Christmas decoration items, several Betty Boop clothing items, and an adorable plaid toddler’s dress with matching coat, so far. There are a few antique items as well. Closing for the silent auction will be 6:30 p.m., on Dec. 12 at the second Saturday evening dinner. We will also draw the name of the lucky winner of the quilt raffle at that time. Please come by the Arlee Senior Center and take a look at the quilt, and the silent auction items. We appreciate support from the community.

Of course the center serves lunch at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a dinner at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Saturday evenings of each month.

Menus for the first half of November:

—  Monday, Nov. 2: chicken enchiladas, salad, fruit, and birthday cake with ice cream for all members and friends with birthdays in —November

—  Wednesday, Nov 4: meatloaf, salad, fruit, bundt cake

—  Friday, Nov 6: spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic toast, green salad, brownies

—  Tuesday, Nov. 10: cowboy beans, corn bead cheese and veggie tray, blueberry parfait

—  Friday, Nov 13: pulled pork, applesauce, relish tray, peach cobbler

Nov 14 — Baked ham, scalloped potatoes, squash, fruit, pumpkin bars Nov

16 — BBQ chick, baked beans, coleslaw, fruit and cookies.

On November 16th foot care lady, Jane B, will be with us from 10:30 a. to

Noon.  You can sign up at the Center, or call 726-3213 or 726-3718 to let

us know you’d like to sign up so she doesn’t make a trip from Polson to

Arlee only to find no one needs their toe nails shortened this month.
