PABLO — A two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skill Training will be offered Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 14-15 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Salish Kootenai College in rooms 102 and 104 inside the Math and Science Building #67.

Participants must arrive on time both days. Breakfast and lunch provided will be provided during the two-day workshop.

Those who complete the workshop are eligible to receive 14 education units.

Participants will learn how to deal with someone who is having thoughts of suicide. The person at risk needs someone who:

— Is patient and cares enough to listen

— Can talk about suicide openly and honestly

— Will ask direct questions about suicide

— Is able to offer hope

— Is able to keep the person safe until resources are accessed

— Is familiar with local resources and national hotlines

— Not afraid to call 911 if necessary

For registration contact Roxana Colman-Herak, ASIST Master Trainer at 406-210-7343.
