More than 300 people, including brides from throughout Northwest Montana and their guests, attended the third annual Mission Valley Bridal Fair on Sunday, Jan. 16.

Attending registered brides entered to win a gift basket filled with merchandise from participating vendors. This year’s vendors went above and beyond with their
contributions. Normally valued at $1,000, the 2011 grand prize gift basket was valued at more than $2,000. Sarah Bahunin of Missoula, who is planning an Aug. 2011 wedding, won the basket.

Some of the items she won included: a $300 gift certificate for professional production services, free rental of 100 chairs, handmade chocolates, professional hair styling products and numerous gift certificates.

Other highlights of the fair were the fashion shows. Men and women modeled formal attire for all possible members of a bridal party during two separate fashion shows. Apparel from Beautiful Weddings of Missoula, First Resort of Polson and Mimi’s Bridal of Kalispell was featured.

“I am so pleased with the turnout and overall success of the event,” Valley Journal Editor Summer Goddard said. “Our sales team members Kjersti Day and Sue Toppen along with KwaTaqNuk director of sales Alicia Pierce worked hard to make this year’s event even better than the last,” she added.

“We are also thankful for our amazing vendors and the entire KwaTaqNuk staff, whose professionalism and attention to detail kept the event running smooth all day.”

“And last but certainly not least, we are thankful for our participating brides-to-be. We hope you enjoyed your day with us as a fun and educational starting point for planning your big day.”

According to information gleaned from the event guestbook, the most popular month for 2011 weddings among registered brides is August, followed closely by June, then July and September.

So keep your eyes peeled for brides this summer. With nearly 40 weddings planned during these months alone, you’re sure to witness a few of these dazzling beauties in white. And, see you at the 2012 Mission Valley Bridal Fair.
