Arlee's track teams had a full schedule last week as the Warriors and Scarlets competed at the Jim Johnson Invitational in Dornblaser Wednesday before making the trip to Thompson Falls for the Bluehawk Invitational Thursday.

A shorthanded Warrior team picked up a seventh-place finish at Dornblaser Thursday, compiling just 13 team points.

Zack Carver led the Arlee tracksters with a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.65 seconds and a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.01 seconds. Clayton Trimble was the only other Warrior to place at the meet, crossing the finish line in the 200-meter dash in 24.71 seconds to earn sixth.

The Scarlets tallied 29 team points at the same meet Wednesday but finished in eighth place.

Rachelle Meidinger and Whitney Malatare had the top finishes of the day for the Scarlets as Meidinger was second in the shot put after a toss of 31 feet, seven inches and Malatare was second in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, eight inches. Becca Nelson anchored the squad with third-place finishes in the discus (94 feet, 4 and 1/2 inches) and javelin (97 feet, five inches) and a sixth-place finish in the shot put (27 feet, four inches).

Carver made his presence felt for the Warriors at the Bluehawk invitational in Thompson Falls Thursday as he finished first in the 100-meter dash (11.90 seconds), first in the 200-meter dash (25.15 seconds) and sixth in the pole vault (10 feet). Trimble also placed in four events, coming in second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.58 seconds, fourth in the shot put with a toss of 42 feet, six inches and sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.37 seconds.

Brady Potts was second in the shot put with a toss of 42 feet, six inches and Nelson Big Sam was sixth with a throw of 38 feet, 1/2 inch.

Malatare came away with a second-place showing in the high jump (four feet, four inches), third in the long jump (14 feet, five and 1/2 inches), fourth in the triple jump (29 feet, nine and 1/2 inches) and 200-meter dash (31.24 seconds) and fifth in the 100-meter dash (14.69 seconds).

Rochelle Meidinger had the top finish of the meet for the Scarlets, winning the shot put with a toss of 32 feet, four inches while Aspen Meidinger was third in the shot and fifth in the javelin.

Becca Nelson also had a good day for Arlee, finishing second in the javelin with a throw of 108 feet, six inches and fifth in the discus with a toss of 82 feet, two inches.

Arlee will be back on the track Friday as they take on Seeley-Swan on the campus of Missoula Big Sky.
