The Arlee Senior Center is having a Valentine Bake Sale Feb. 13 from 4-6 p.m. at the center just before our Second Saturday Dinner at 6 p.m. There will be homemade cookies, cakes, and candies to choose from. Please come by to select a treat for your special Valentine.

Our annual meeting held Jan. 23 at the Saturday evening meal, resulted in the election of one new board member, Bill Samsel. Two board members, whose terms expired Dec. 31, were re-elected: Lilie Willison and Rose Dschaak. 

Officers for the 2016 board of director were chosen at the regular monthly meeting Monday, Feb. 1. Serving for the 2016 year are President: Bill Samsel, Vice-president Lilie Willison, Secretary Bette Samsel, and Treasurer Anne Stewart.

We are in need a cook who can start immediately and would like to work just one day (Wednesday) per week from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and one Saturday per month for a six-hour shift, from 1-7 p.m. A free lunch or dinner is included with the $10 per hour salary. This position also may occasionally be asked to fill in for the Monday/Friday cook, or as cook’s helper when needed.

Lunches are served at noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week and at the 6 p.m. dinner on the second and fourth Saturday evenings each month. 

Lunches are $4 for seniors over 55 and $5 for those under 55. Dinners are $5 for those 55 and older and $6 for those under 55. Lunches include a main dish, a veggie, fruit, dessert, and milk, coffee, tea or juice. Socializing during and after a meal is encouraged, it helps keep our bodies and souls together in harmony, as well as lets us make new friends or renew old acquaintances.  Take-out meals are available by calling 406-726-3213.  

Menus for February 10-20:

—  Wednesday, Feb. 10: hot turkey sandwich, veggie, salad, dessert

—  Friday, Feb. 12: spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, garlic toast, fruit, brownies

— Saturday, Feb. 13: Valentine’s dinner: beef roast, potatoes with gravy, salad, peach cobbler

— Monday, Feb. 15: barbecue chicken, rice, veggie, pudding and cookies

—  Wednesday, Feb. 17: Indian tacos, chili’n veggies, pineapple USD cake

—  Friday, Feb. 19: meatloaf, potatoes and gravy, green salad, fruit, cheese cake
