Charles Ray ‘Chuck’ Weivoda

PABLO — Charles Ray “Chuck” Weivoda, 58, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. He was born July 15, 1957, to Wallace and Gerry (McLain) Weivoda in Ronan.

He grew up attending school in Polson, graduating with the class of 1976. After graduation, he worked on a shrimp boat in Galveston, Texas. He returned to the Mission Valley in 1977 and worked as a skilled carpenter-craftsman for PATCOR and Timberline Construction. For the last 18 years, he worked for Mission Valley Power as a Meter Reader/Installer.

Chuck took pride in all he did, which was reflected in the care he took of his family, property, vehicles and all work he performed. Chuck’s greatest joy was being Papa Chuck to his grandchildren Haislea and Zephyr.

Chuck was a loyal and avid Grizzlies fan and hosted countless gatherings in his Griz Garage. His presence will still be felt by all at future games. He will be sorely missed on fishing trips with best buds Doc and Snatch. He had many brothers by other mothers and they all grew up enjoying his family’s home and hospitality. These lifelong friends shared good times on road trips; hunting, fishing, wood gathering, and even problem solving seminars, along with a beverage or two.

Chuck was a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and was an organ donor whose gifts of life will live on in many recipients.

Chuck’s loving mother Gerry Weivoda, beloved son Christopher Craig Weivoda, cousins Rachelle McLain Thompson, Russell McLain, Geri Dipasquale Dallman and Dale Barber all precede him in death.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 28 years Carolyn (Jackson) Weivoda of Pablo; stepdaughter, Charmel McClure-Sternick (Shawn) of Missoula; father, Wallace Weivoda (Durien) of Pablo; foster brother, Leonard Combs of California; sisters, Beverly Richards (Dewey) of Pablo and Deborah Weivoda; brother, Michael Weivoda (Pamela) of Polson; his grandchildren, Haislea and Zephyr Sternick and nieces and nephews, Justin Borders (Jami) of Billings, Koral Haggard (Patrick), Brianna Rowe (Brad) and Anthony Weivoda of Polson; along with countless other special family members and friends.

Memorial services for Chuck will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the New Life Christian Center, 1414 Second Street W.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Chuck’s memory to: Life Center Northwest (where his life-giving donations were given), Attn: Family Services, 3650 131st Ave. SE, Ste 200, Bellevue, WA 98006  or to: Mission Valley Power Student Scholarship Program, P.O. Box 97, Pablo, MT 59855.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory.
