Football star to speak
PABLO — Johnny Rodgers, chosen the best college football player in 1972, will speak around Lake County April 28-29.
Rodgers won the 1972 Heisman Trophy while at the University of Nebraska, and went on to play in both the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes and the National Football League as a San Diego Charger. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
Rodgers will speak to Two Eagle River School students from 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Joe McDonald Gym and again for the public from 5:30-7 p.m.
On Friday, April 29, Rodgers will speak at Polson High School from 9-11 a.m. and at Charlo High School from noon-1:30 p.m.
