Some irrigation election ballots won’t be received

LAKE COUNTY — Voters eligible to vote in the Flathead Joint Board of Control election on May 3 might not receive a voting ballot if their paperwork isn’t complete with the election office.

This year, voters need to authorize one individual to vote if their land is designated as a company or corporation with several owners. To do this, they must fill out a short form that needs to be notarized.

Voters can designate a single voter up to election day before receiving ballots.

Only those with irrigated land are eligible to vote in the irrigation election. One vote is given per irrigated acre with the irrigation project.

Affidavits are available at the FJBC office in St. Ignatius, which is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and can be reached at 406-745-2090. Paperwork is also available at the Polson election office in the Lake County Courthouse at 106 Fourth Avenue East; the phone number is 406-883-7268.
