Wow. Sometimes we get it so wrong. Regardless of how you feel about Polson’s possible resort tax please understand this: Rebecca Pickerill Dupuis who is on the committee studying this idea is not the former resident and lawyer Becky Dupuis who left our area quite some time ago. Becky P. Dupuis grew up in Polson and with her husband currently manages the Showboat Cinema on Main Street. I have known her for many years and respect her commitment to Polson and the way she has been involved in her kids’ schooling and in making Polson an even better place to live.
If you have been told that she is a lawyer, the person who told you that is mistaken. She is an engineer. She is much younger than the other woman and is not connected by law or blood to her. She enjoys a good reputation as a hard worker who is willing to take on difficult tasks.
It is an easy matter in our small towns to misunderstand or mischaracterize when we don’t have all the facts or hear a comment and misinterpret it. Please do not confuse the identities of people who share the same name.
