Louise J. Schock

ST. IGNATIUS — Louise J. Schock, 81, was called home to the loving arms of our Savior on Monday, May 9, 2016.

Born Oct. 17, 1934, in Terry, Montana, Louise was the youngest of Jennie and Oliver Jones’ five children. To all who knew her, Louise was a devoted wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother and great-grandmother.

Louise married Walter Schock in 1952 in Terry, Montana, and in 1956 they moved to St. Ignatius where they purchased a dairy farm and raised three loving children. In addition to being a busy farmer’s wife and mother, Louise worked for the BIA in their accounting department, later transferring to Mission Valley Power.  Louise retired in 1996.

Louise was an avid supporter of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s many activities. She traveled across the state to cheer for each of them. Throughout her busy life and career, she always made time and energy to be their number #1 fan.

Louise was a member of Zion Lutheran church for 60 years. She loved spending time at Flathead Lake and family gatherings.

By her side, holding her hand and lovingly caring for Louise these 63 years was her husband Walter Schock. Sons, Greg (Paula) and Rocky (Robyn) of St. Ignatius and daughter, Melody (Dann) Rohrer of Libby find comfort by sharing Louise’s strong faith in God’s saving grace. Louise was immensely proud of her 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Louise’s life was held in St. Ignatius on Friday, May 13, at Zion Lutheran Church.

Donations in her honor may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society
