RONAN — The Pheasant Lounge on 117 Main Street SW in Ronan caught fire around 3:40 a.m. Sunday and was knocked down in a couple of hours, according to Ronan Fire Chief Mark Clary. Fire departments from Ronan, Polson, and Charlo responded to the incident.
“There was moderate damage within the bar due to smoke and fire,” said Ronan Police Chief Ken Weaver. The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation. This was the third business fire in the area in the recent months, according to Clary.
Currently, there is no news of whether the lounge will be rebuilt or what the community can do to help.
“It was an iconic piece of history,” Weaver said. The historical lounge was home to many cribbage games, laughs, and good drinks with friends, according to its Facebook page.
