RONAN – Traveling, kayaking and volunteering are a few of the activities that CEO of Mission Mountain Enterprise Brodie Moll will be taking part in after he retires on Thursday, June 30. Moll has been working for Mission Mountain Enterprises for the past 28 years and has seen the company evolve from 15 employees to 150.

“It has been fun to see and help people find their niche and build a career for themselves,” Moll said. “We have given a lot of people that chance.”

Building connections with people in the community on a daily basis and being able to improve a person’s life are what Moll will miss most after he retires.

“We customize services for individuals with intellectual disabilities,” Moll said. “We find jobs, activities, set up a retirement plan, off transportation … it has been a rewarding job.”

Moll first entered the mental health industry when he received a summer job at a mental institution in Dixon, Illinois.

“I have been interested in this field ever since,” Moll said. “I will continue to be an advocate for human rights and would like to do some environmental advocacy as well.”

Moll will be helping new CEO Whitney Cantlon transition into her new title.

“He will be a lifeline for me for about eight months,” Cantlon said. “Most CEO’s wouldn’t help their replacement get comfortable. I am very lucky that he is doing that.”

Cantlon was born and raised in the Flathead Valley. She graduated from Ronan High School in 2001 and continued her education in Bozeman and Missoula. Cantlon often visited an assisted living center where her mother worked as a nurse.

“I grew up in the nursing home and really connected with the residents who were younger and had disabilities,” Cantlon said.

“I think that is one of the reasons I love giving back to the community and continually making a difference for the individuals that we serve.”

Cantlon credits her ability to offer a helping hand to her mother.

“My mom always taught me to treat everyone with respect,” Cantlon said. “It was always important to view everyone as an equal.”

She is looking forward to continuing building on the success of MME.

“I am not going to try and create change for the sake of change,” Cantlon said. “We will help continue to provide critical services in the valley and evolve these services to adapt to changes happening in the industry. I think we will also tap into the advances in technology and social media, but that is down the line.”

Cantlon has been working side-by-side with Moll and is excited to have had that opportunity before he retires.

“If I can positively impact MME like Brodie has in 28 years, I will consider it a very successful career,” Cantlon said.
