RONAN — The Ronan Chamber of Commerce Ronan Roundup is back in the swing and had their first meeting on Thursday, July 14. Chamber boardmember and past Roundup President Brandy Chisholm is hoping the community gathering will start generating ideas to improve the town.

“This is a great way for businesses to collaborate and promote community communication,” Chisholm said.

The event theme was “Bringing Ronan Together” and Chisholm said it is important for community members to attend to feel involved and connected to their community.

“The goal is to find a way that people know what is going on this town,” Chisholm said. “We have a lot of events, but just need the people.”

Marie Hirsch, Business Development Center director at Lake County Community Development Corporation was excited to have the Ronan Roundup become a priority again.

“This gives people the opportunity to exchange business cards, learn from each other and hopefully start new projects,” Hirsch said. “It is a place for people to express what they have on their minds, and that can’t happen if people don’t participate.”

The date for the next Ronan Roundup is still undecided as board members consider changing the name.
