RONAN — Brrr it’s cold out there. Time to turn up the heat and get out the warm clothes. It is also time to make any changes in your Medicare insurance programs. As you have probably already heard, NewWest is leaving Montana and so their costumers have to find new carriers. Baily Insurance from Kalispell will be here at the Mission Valley Senior Center, 528 Main St SW, on Monday, Oct. 17, and Friday, Nov. 4. Both meetings will be at 10am and last for about two hours. Brian will be able to answer your questions and possibility sign you up with a new carrier. There are no charges for these meetings.

We have a contest going on here at the center. The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild has several small autumn quilts on display here. Please come and view their handiwork. You can vote on your favorites, and the money collected goes to the center.

This Thursday night is our chicken dinner, served at 5:30 p.m. For just $5 you can get a great dinner and enjoy some friendly company. Can’t beat the price or the fellowship.

The foot clinic will be here at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19. There is no charge for this service, but donations are gladly accepted.

The ladies are still meeting for crafts/painting at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. Come on in and join in on the fun. On any day that we are open, the pool table is ready for some action, and there is always a puzzle ready to be worked on.

Our raffle is still going on and we will have tables set up to sell tickets in various stores during October and November. Tickets are $1 each/$5 for six. We have a quilt, a Thomas Kincade print, an afghan and some smaller prizes being raffled. The money goes to support the center and the nutrition program.

Don’t forget our bazaar on Nov. 19. We still have a table or two left for $10 a table. Call the center if you have some handmade things that you have to sell and would like to rent a table.

Our menu for the next week is:

— Wednesday, Oct. 12: sausage and peppers

— Thursday, Oct. 13: chicken dinner at 5:30

— Friday, Oct. 14: chicken and dumplings

— Monday, Oct. 17: meatloaf

— Wednesday, Oct. 19: baked potato bar

We are open for the noon meal on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Everyone is welcome, and you don’t have to be a senior citizen to join us.

Have a great week and we hope that you will stop buy to visit.
