Representatives from Energy Keepers, Inc., NorthWestern Energy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and Bureau of Indian Affairs conferred on Sept. 22, regarding the operation of the Seli’š Ksanka Qlispe (formerly Kerr) Project. The current outflow is about 7,590 cubic feet per second and the lake elevation, on Oct. 3 was 2,892.1 feet. In September, the natural stream flow averaged 79% and is forecast to be 94% in October. Precipitation accumulation was 59% of normal at the SKQ Dam. EKI’s plan is to draft to 2891’ by Halloween to mitigate shoreline erosion.
