Eagles top Hot Springs, topple to Noxon

Though the weather outside was cold, the atmosphere inside the Two Eagle River gymnasium was blistering as four players scored in double figures in the Eagles’ 63-58 win over Hot Springs Jan.19.
The Eagles’ Cole Noble sank 23 points; Artie Mendoza scored 14 points; Marcus Brown had 11 points and Skyler Rossbach hit 10 for Two Eagle River.
Hot Springs had three players in double figures in the loss. Dave Cross scored 20 points, Mike Gray tallied 11 and Wyatt Nagy had 10 for the Savage Heat.
On Jan. 19, the Eagles felt the heat from the Noxon Red Devils, who burned Two Eagle River 63-58.
Four Noxon players were in double figures, including Banks Stocking, who scored 19 points. Travis Tammaro had 17 points; Oliver Grupenhoff had 19; and Jordan Eichert had 15.
The Eagles had three players in double figures. Brown paced the Eagles with 19; Clayton Malatare 18; and Rossbach had 11.
The Eagles led 16-10 in the first quarter, but from there Noxon took over outscoring Two Eagle River 20-10, 25-17, and 24-21 in the last three quarters of the game.
The Eagles (4-4, 8-4) host Charlo Jan. 24 and travel to Victor Jan. 27.
