Unofficial results at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 with more than 96 percent of Montana precincts reported:

 

House District 93

John Fleming-D, 2355, 54 percent

Johanna Clark-R, 1982, 45 percent

 

House District 12

Greg Hertz-R, 3,372, 64 percent

Susan Evans-D, 1,852, 35 percent

 

State Senate District 6

Albert D. Olszewski-R, 7,332, 72 percent

Rolf Harmsen-D, 2,829, 27 percent

 

State Senate District 47

Daniel R. Salomon-R, 4,765, 52 percent

Tom France-D, 4,348, 47 percent

Difference of 417 votes

 

Winners running unopposed for Lake County offices in the general election include Lyn Platt Fricker, Lake County Clerk of District Court; Dave Stipe, Lake County Commissioner, District 2; and Carolyn O. Hall, Lake County Superintendent of Schools. There were no candidates on the ballot for Senate District 8, which covers mostly the east side of Highway 93 from Ravalli north past Finley Point, and areas east of the Mission Mountains.

 

Ballot Initiative 182 to expand access to medical marijuana unofficially passed with 57 percent for and 42 percent against. Also passing was “Marsey’s Law” I-116 regarding crime victims’ rights, 65 percent in favor and 24 percent opposed. I-181 promoting research for brain injuries failed 57 to 42 percent. The trapping initiative I-177 to prohibit trapping on public lands also failed with 62 against and 37 for.

 

In state positions, Governor Steve Bullock is ahead by 18,735 votes, gathering 50 percent of voters compared to Greg Gianforte at 46 percent. Other unofficial winners include Corey Stapleton-R, Secretary of State, Tim Fox-R, Attorney General; Matt Rosendale-R, State Auditor; Elsie Arntzen, State Superintendent of Schools.

 

So far, 72.95 percent of voters registered in Montana cast a ballot in this general election.

That number could go higher when 100 percent of precincts are reported.

The 2014 general election, 72.18 percent voted.
