Lorraine Walston

RONAN — Lorraine Walston of Ronan passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, of natural causes. She was 95 years old. Lorraine was born on Sept. 18, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Rose Tichava.

She attended school in both Berwyn and Hinsdale, Illinois. After graduating, she worked in a war plant and later a chemical plant where she met and later married her husband, Wayne Walston. In 1951 they moved to Montana, west of Conrad, to run the family ranch. Two years later their son, Alan John, was born. They farmed until moving into the town of Conrad in 1969.

Lorraine enjoyed trips to Glacier National Park, reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing duplicate bridge. She had a huge heart for all animals but especially for her cats.

In 1996, following the death of her husband, she moved to Ronan to be closer to her family. While in Ronan she was an active member of the Ronan Senior Center serving on the board. Her son, Alan; daughter in law, Tammy and grandchildren, Bryce, Hayley and Ridge; nephew, Dean Walston (Maryln); nieces, Holly Sanchez (Mike) and Gail McKinnon (Greg Johnson), survive her.

Services will be held at the Conrad First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m., with lunch to follow.

Memorial donations for Lorraine may be sent to the Ronan Senior Center, 528 Main Street SW, Ronan, MT 59864.

Condolences may be made to Lorraine’s memorial page at: www. asperfh.com.
