Aliene D. Cooper

RONAN — Aliene D. Cooper, age 85, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at the Mountain View Care Center. She was born on June 8, 1931, in Sykeston, North Dakota, the daughter of Henry and Pauline(Wutzke) Cellmer.

Aliene attended and graduated from Edgar (Mont.) High School in 1949. On November 17, 1951 she married Raymond Cooper in Laurel, Mont. They later divorced. Following her divorce, she relocated to Missoula from Ronan where she worked as a bookkeeper at several businesses including Super Save and retired from the University of Montana in the purchasing department. After retirement, she moved to Polson and later back to Ronan.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting. She was an avid reader and enjoyed old westerns and Montana history. She also loved crossword puzzles.

Aliene’s parents; her sister, Dorothy Stocks; and three brothers, Maynard, Jarel and Donald Cellmer, all precede her in death.

Her children, Daryl Cooper and significant other Mary Rogers of Dillon, Lynn Cooper and wife Marilyn of Polson, Randy Cooper and wife Denise of Missoula and daughter Sheri Lien and husband Michael of Ronan; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great great-granddaughter; brother, Lawrence Cellmer and his wife Jean of Billings and numerous nieces and nephews all survive her.
