RONAN – The Maidens raced out to a 33-point lead after the first quarter and used a 22-6 run in the second quarter to upend the visiting cross-valley rivals Mission Lady Bulldogs 74-16 to remain undefeated on the season.

“Effort level is high right now,” Maidens’ head coach Ron Hanson said. “We are getting better as we progress through the season.”

Alicia Camel led the Maiden squad with a game-high 18 points, Micalann McCrea had 16 points and Lee Camel followed up with 15 points on the evening.

Coming off the bench, Hannah Moss scored eight points and Tiana Ulutoa had seven points.

“The bench is progressing and have been putting in some really good minutes for us,” Coach Hanson said.

Karolyna Buck scored a teamhigh four points for the Lady Bulldogs.

On Thursday, the Maidens host the Libby Loggers.

HOT SPRINGS –The Lady Eagles led 21-18 at the half, but the hosting Lady Savage Heat chipped away and a 15-5 fourth-quarter earned Hot Springs the win on Thursday, 50-32.

Esperanza Orozco led the Lady Eagles with eight points and Naomi Stevens followed up with seven points.

CHARLO – After an 18-18 tie at halftime, the hosting Lady Vikings found themselves trailing the Lady Tigers by three points late in the fourth quarter Jan. 17. A missed 3-pointer that would have tied the game and multiple trips to the free-throw line by the Lady Tigers snuffed out any hope of a comeback by the Lady Vikings.

Cheyenne Nagy led Charlo with 19 points. Nagy scored a game-high 14 points for the Lady Viking, which used a 16-0 run in the first-quarter to dominate Victor 49-11 on Friday night.

The Lady Vikings dropped a Western 14-C game to Plains on Saturday, 43-30.

Kaitlin Cox scored a team-high 13 points for the Lady Vikings.

On Friday, the Lady Vikings travel to Pablo to face Two Eagle and head to Noxon on Saturday.

ST. IGNATIUS – Afton Brander scored 14 points and Randee Charlo had 10 points for the Lady Bulldogs in a 53-41 home loss to the Deer Lodge Wardens on Saturday night.

ARLEE – The Scarlets powered ahead for a 29-12 lead at half time and coasted to the finish in picking up the 47-21 Western 14-C victory over Hot Springs on Friday. Alyssia Vanderburg led the Scarlet squad with 15 points and Carly Hergett and Bryndle Goyins both added 10 points apiece.

On Saturday the Scarlets built a 27-8 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 68-22 victory over the Valley Christian Eagles. Hergett scored a gamehigh 23 points and Vanderburg and Noelle West both added 10 points apiece for the Scarlets while limiting the Eagles to single digits in each of the four quarters.

The Scarlets are on the road on Friday at Plains.

WHITEFISH – On Saturday, the Lady Pirates used a 14-10 run in the fourth quarter to squeak by hosting Whitefish 34-32. Mollie Fisher scored a team-high 10 points for the Lady Pirates.
