Ruth Talley

RONAN — Ruth Talley, daughter of William and Carolyn Anderson, was born in Valier, Montana, on June 15, 1926. She passed away on March 2, 2017.

Ruth moved with her family at a young age to Harlem. After graduation, she moved to Spokane and attended nursing school. From there she moved on to Kalispell.

In Kalispell she married G. E. (Pink) Henricksen. They had one child, Gordon Henricksen.

After her divorce from Pink, she attended Kalispell Business College and learned the business skills of short hand, typing and dictation. Ruth used these skills to earn her income throughout her adult life. She met the love of her life, Charles Talley, in Sacramento, California. They were married on May 20, 1972.

After their retirement, they traveled extensively throughout the United States in their fifth-wheel trailer. Their intention was to visit all 49 continentalstates. They were able to visit most of them. They had several wonderful years spending time with family and meeting many new friends along their journey.

Ruth’s husband Charles preceded her in death on April 20, 2005.

Ruth’s next move was to Ronan. While in Ronan, she participated in various volunteer works with the VFW, and the Boys and Girls Club. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Ruth was very sociable. If she walked into a room of strangers, it would not take her long to make new acquaintances.

Ruth’s husband, Chuck Talley; her brother, George Anderson; and her parents, William and Carolyn Anderson precede her in death.

Her son, Gordon (Ann) Henricksen; stepdaughters, Velma (Ron) Lomax, and Helen (Greg) Atchison and stepson, Charles (Marilyn) Talley; grandchildren, Eric Henricksen and Amanda Henricksen; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Henricksen and Landon Henricksen, and brother, Orville (Annette) Anderson, survive her.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Polson Health and Rehabilitation, and Providence Assisted Living for the loving care they gave Ruth during the last months of her life.

A celebration of life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Ronan on Satur day, March 25, at 2 p.m. Suggested memorials are Faith Lutheran Church Endowment and VFW of Ronan.

Memories and condolences may be sent to the family at www.shriderthompson. com. Arrangements are under the direction of Shrider– Thompson Funeral Home.
